Sorry, I must have suffered a temporary loss of omniscience.

This is one of the reasons why I am not bothering with contributing to most of the other topics. It's no fun if you have to keep checking with previous entries. It's the same with the need to look up just the previous entry. It spoils the effect and I no longer enjoy it.

Thank you! I though I was the only one that felt all these "rules" were a buzzkill. smileys with beer

It's not so much the rules. The problem is where the reply is referring to a previous post. Because of the ways that people reply, the post does not necessarily refer to the immediate previous post and it's a bit of a bore having to look at the previous post to tie the two together. This is why some of us repeat the phrase to which we are replying as well as the new one.

For me, It depends on how far I have to go back, Ive. There are so many of the song ones, I just gave up on searching a long time ago. I've had a few posts I've made repeated but it doesn't bother me much.

I guess it's not rules necessarily that bring me down either, it seems to be more the break in the flow of the thread that does it. Tends to slow your roll, if you know what I mean.

And ya' know, if that's the worst problem I have, I'm a happy girl! smiling smiley

It's not worth worrying about repetitions. Now, deviation is a different thing...

Indeed, it was established long ago, in one of the other threads, that there is no rule against repetitions, as I had for one had imagined there to be.

I didn't say anything about "rules". I didn't criticise anybody. I merely mentioned, in a perfectly informal way, that a suggested title had already been given by someone else. Then everybody fell about as if they had been struck by Jovian thunderbolt! Hence my reference to omniscience. I wasn't playing God.

The contrast with the Veggie Anthems thread, when everybody fell over themselves in abject gratitude for an extremely humourless and pedantic ticking-off for the awful sin of mentioning fish, mystifies me.

I have been containing my annoyance, and not saying anything more about it, but I'm afraid this is one reference too many.

I will never, ever, ever mention any repetition again, no matter how lightly. I will be very, very, relaxed. Look at me: see how relaxed I am? Good! angry smiley
