Oh you're very welcome, Ironeyes smiling smiley

It really was excellent. I'd been catching a few of these sorts of things on R2, and I think it was PAW, who turned me on to R6, where they have a lot more of them, including some great Classic Concerts.

I'm listening to one right now that I'll post about right after this, perhaps you'll like it as well. Awesome! winking smiley

I got introduced to 6Music by the Beatles documentary they ran back in Sept/Oct 2010 and I check every so often what's on. I caught Jarvis Cocker's Musical Map of Sheffield which I thought was quite imaginative (I'd spent some time in Sheffield in 2000).I like how Jarvis talks, he's got the voice and cadance thing going. A pleasure to hear voices like that. I am looking forward to the Story of David Bowie. I am not a fan, but I always thought he was an interesting fellow. They are repeating the documentary series about John Lennon this week too.

I guess I wasn't wrong, Bowie tells a good story. His story seems much more organic than any of his contemporaries. I guess this series is like The Beatles Story where they use clips of the time rather than having Bowie tell the story in the present day.

I've been recording these, but haven't listened yet. I sort of like the idea of having older interviews in there.

Jan,
Did not know that you are a Zep & Wolf fan.
I remember Rob Plant when he was singing Howlin' Wolf stuff in the back rooms of London Pubs in the mid-60s - before Zep - beer & blues smileys with beer.
I am explororing the Beebotron boards and trying to get the hang of them and came acroos this post - but will watch out more closely for your future posts on on upcoming music programs - as we seem to have - more or less - the same musical tastes - Queen - I can take it or leave it mmm whistling smiley

Think I saw Robert Plant and Zeppelin at Shepton Mallet festival when I was 17 y.o. ... and that was many moons ago. It must have been 1969 or thereabouts ... But it's Jimmy Page who bowls me over today. What a musician! I hadn't cottoned to his skill way back when, must have been too young!eye rolling smiley

Sorry for the delay in reply, GWN. Yup. I'm a Zep fan from waaay back. Once I get caught up, I'll post some more here, hopefully you'll find something interesting.

And I forgive you for not liking Queen smoking smiley (Come on....Ogre Battle? Brighton Rock? March of the Black Queen? No? Psssh! winking smiley )

My favourite Zep album, 1973's Houses Of The Holy. Every track a great one! There was even a Radio Four documentary on the cover not so long ago....

I heard that documentary, Superman. Very interesting that was.

Houses of The Holy is awesome, but I think mine is probably Zeppelin IV. Although "Immigrant Song" from Zeppelin III is one of my all-time favorites. Bonzo's relentless drums and Robert Plant wailing.....

A-ah-ahh-ah, ah-ah-ahh-ah
We come from the land of the ice and snow
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow

The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde and sing and cry, Valhalla, I am coming

Just to cool for words. Knocks me out everytime. smoking smiley
