No, I mean that surely waiting4atickle has already given the link "Band of Gold -> Gold Fever ~ Clint Eastwood".
Re: Song Title Association

Well, if you'd posted "Clemantine", you'd have had people complaining about your spelling, Pen. The link from Band of Gold -> Clementine seems a bit borderline to me, but Gold Fever -> Clementine has more going for it. I was torn between Gold Fever and After The Gold Rush, which might have made an even better link to Clementine.

Silver threads among the gold...

Smilin' Through ~ John McCormack

That may be too obscure as well - let me know what you think.

I almost give up; I'm now almost totally lost.

But was "Band of Gold - Silver threads among the Gold" by any chance a misprint for "Gold Fever - Silver threads among the Gold"?

That might explain what is still making my brain hurt.

Mat, I think the sequence is Band of Gold -> Gold Fever -> Silver threads among the Gold -> Smilin' Through.

Yes, Mat, you are right I slipped a line when copying. So sorry about the confusion all . I will try to do better.

Smiling through> When you are smiling (Louis Armstrong)

(But that is sooo obvious and would and actually would qualify for the other thread - I was trying to think of think of something cleverer, and obviously it is too much for me!)

When You Are Smiling >

You Light Up My Life ~ Debby Boone

(according to Wiki this was "easily...the most successful single of the 1970s in the United States, and set a new Hot 100 record for longest reign at No.1." )

Huh? What just happened? I definitely copied and pasted "Stone In Love With You - The Stylistics " from this thread (altering only the punctuation, for the sake of uniformity).

Don't Stand So Close To Me

Go Away Little Girl ~ Mark Wynter

The song is about a schoolgirl having a crush on a teacher; and "don't stand so close to me" is what you might think when caught in a crush of people. I'll get me coat, shall I?

Ouch! Oh, so that's what a brickbat looks like? I always wondered.
