Jan, I've only ever heard Lonnie's version, which was a top ten hit here in 1959 and also, apparenty, in the States.

Apparently so! I never heard it though. It was sung here as Does The Spearmint Lose It's Flavor. First time I ever heard it was Minnie singing it on The Grand Ole Opry.
