Do you mind if I just add a line?
And make sure it isn't benign
Though it mustn't be rude
Or have bad attitude

The use of a pun would be fine.

'Double entendre' would have been better, but the scansion was terrible.

I'm a little bit peeved
I would not have believed
That it's your line, when it should be mine

I have posted the bottom line of the most recent limerick on two separate occasions yet nothing appears.

WHY?

A gremlin Norm? One of the Masters of this site will doubtless look into it for you. ... A dumb question if you will allow ... might it be that for some reason or other (clear cache etc.) that you were logged off?

I can see two posts by you with the same limerick with very similar last lines. They're further up this thread, here and here

Are these the ones you lost?

It might possibly be that your posts have gone on to the start of a new page in the thread. Scroll down to the bottom message on your screen in the thread and if you see a page turn indicated bottom right hand side just click the small arrow forward or back ...

I think message display is, to some extent, dependent upon your individual settings. If you are not aware of how to modulate these, give us a shout and we'll do a step by step for ya.

There are two version of the one that starts "Do you mind if I add a line". This was because both Ivor ("Im a little bit preeved"winking smiley and I ("but I mustnt be rude"j) submitted a third line at roughly the same time. I gave precedence to Ivor (well anything for a quiet life! and he was a few minutes earlier) but both got finished anyway. To make it even more confusing there seem to be two copies of one of them!

However actually noticed something slightly odd. If I post a message, then use "favourites" to go onto another function(s) - say email or listen to radio. -- my message does not appear, nor are there any new messages (that is why gave me the clue) . If I log off completely and then start again and go into the Phorum my message and usually new ones from others appear! Its a big of a nuisance but as it seems to have occurred since I changed to a 3G dongle I assumed that it had something to do with the fact that the log in by code seems to need renewing at intervals, but perhaps the techies could explain further

You might be undergoing some automatic cache clearing or something (here speaks a retard in matters technical, and one who knows nowt of the niceties of the dongle ... but I still thought I'd put in my two bits worth!!!) the finger smiley

Speaking of iambic pentameter which we weren't... did anyone catch Sir Peter Hall on the subject?

My problem is that I write a message and wander down to 'Preview' and the forget to post and tootle off
elsewhere.

Thanks for the link Tru. Interesting.

Ivor - Great minds again. Do you know I have been known to do that. The other way to confuse oneself is to use the "go back" arrow, rather than clicking on recent messages again.

Sorry Ivor & Lady P, I know that my response to Tru's first line was weak but your contributions don't even come close to being a limerick.
