Thanks Jan. It's actually a bit early. Broadcast date is really close to the day.

Been trying to get this one from our "source" but it's never been available. So maybe one prayer was answered.

Funnily I could have sworn that it has been on4X before - but I see they are claiming it as a debut. It has certainly been on BBC more than once.

Glad to learn there is another Coward fan here Mars, - hope you enjoy this version and a Happy Birthday from me too.

Seems a rather odd way to describe the play though!

Thank you Pen, I thought the description was odd too. Maybe closer to the day they will put the original description.

This was my introduction to the work of Mr Coward. And what an introduction!

That man was so sharp that I'd put him up there with Oscar Wilde when it comes to one-liners and biting responses.

Have a good one Mars and have a drink on me smileys with beer

Oh you lucky thing Teepee. I would love loved to see Penleope Keith in THAT role. Of course Margaret Rutherford is always thought of in the part , but my name sake nust have brought a whole new dimension to it!

I really loved this production. Don't know why but I kept seeing Carole Lombard as Elvira in my mind's eye. Roger Allam is pitch perfect as usual. Don't know if it is preconditioning, but I thought Maggie Steed sounded like Penelope Keith in this.

I have a recording of a 1950's version, with Michael Denison as Charles, Dulcie Gray as Elvira and Sylvia Coleridge as Madame Arcati. I have recorded this version but haven't got around to listening yet. Its going to be interesting comparing.
