Is it me?
2119 Tue 23 August 2011
Was it something I said?

All I am getting on the Phorum is Ivor's Radio Dates. No complaints but where is everyone else?

I have been having problems with both PC and ISP recently, but cant see why they should cut out some messages and not others. Where is everyonedoh smiley

I nearly said who is Timmy? then it clicked. Problem yok, Sooty Spaniel has volunteered - now all we have to do is teach him to type.

And I am now off to do the washingup, want to come and give me a hand? You can dry.

I'm dry enough, thanks.

I've just got round to listening to last night's Saturday Stand-Up. Doctor Phil Hammond has been a favourite of mine for a long while. I'm pleased to say that he lived up to his normal style and that the second part is on next Saturday.

Yes, well I am afraid our tastes in comedy (apart from two exceptions) differ Ivor. I have been listening for the umpteenth time to JiS. Practically know it off by heart now, but its background while I get on with boring jobs.

I have noted before these Boards go quiet on Sunday evenings. What happens to everyone - can we really be the only ones not in Churchconfused smiley

Having worked in the NHS, I like his humour. Just like Dave Spikey; He was the same grade as me - same specialty too. I can see real responses in their sets. I have often been derogatory about junior doctors, in the past. Non 'medical' people have often been shocked by my attitude, but I just point out that, in 40 years, i came across a lot of similar situations.

I think that they are sleeping it off. I've been out this weekend - unusual for me. Today, I went and had a game of snooker - unsuccessful. Yesterday, I went up north for a friend's 60th Birthday. There wasn't a lot of food on the buffet, so I called in the Chinese takeaway when I got back home and had a beer, which I'd missed out on because of driving home. At least I slept well, last night.

I'd better not answer that, Pen. The boy scout bit, I mean. They can touch you for that.

At least, GG has joined us. You've got someone to talk to, now, about t'Archers!

So glad to see you back Jan - I think Ivor was getting lonely and I needed your moral support!

Sorry about your bad air days - humidity here last couple of days has been well night unbearable! Surely it cant get any more wet without actuallu raining!

Back in Arkansas, where my Pop is from, I've experienced ninety-five degrees with ninety-eight percent humidity. That is why I do no live there. smiling smiley

A lot of ours has to do with wildfires. There's one going up around Yosemite at the moment. Since we're in a Valley all things smoky and icky tend to stay in the bowl until we get a strong enough wind to blow it over the Sierra Nevada's. Because of the heat we have to deal with the ozone on top of that, so even folks who don't have asthma are being affected. sad smiley

Looks like you guys kept each other company though. smiling smiley

Considering we had a long wet winter I am surprised we don't have more fires right now. Spent a few days in the a few rural places up north of here and it was HOT. The fire was out when we got to Lincoln and that was a big worry because it was a propane tanker (rail car). Then on the way home yesterday we saw a fire just outside Fairfield on the hill. The weird thing was all the road kill on the two lane highway. Saw coyotes, racoons, wild turkeys and a few cats. The heat must drive animals to do their thing at night.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, Jan. Hope you get better soon.

Yeah, that tanker fire didn't help none, that's for sure. We haven't had a lot of fires, but what we've had have been back to back, so not much of a recovery break.
